A new site of PFNNetwork was created in August 2003 with the assistance of a developer and begun efficient in October. In the same time, I began my activities at CNAM (coordination of the Prospective Department and the beginning of the evening courses). Fortunately, the website with this new functionalities (fast emission of newsletters, effective referencing on the search engines) which allowed the maintenance of its and MP visibility during the last six months.
For the general Propective-Foresight Network Statistics Report see Prospective.PDF
and the specific Millennium Project Propective-Foresight Network Statistics
Report presented at the meeting of France Node with Jerome Glenn, Director of
the Millennium Project, May 6, 2004 see StatistiquesMP1
and StatistiquesMP2.
The members’contributions
At the last PFN meeting, Tuesday May 4 2004, with the Board of directors,
we have decided to ask a small financial contribution of 15 euros a year
to the members. And in the same time, we have decided to ask the members
the equivalent of three Prospective’s articles or informations, as new
Internet site, new publication or events for the Agenda heading.
The objective is that the site lives in a “completely interactive way”.
Millennium Project - 2004 Assessment
This year, some members of PFN had worked hard to realize the Prospective’s software developed by the LIPSOR and EPITA. With the collaboration of the Millennium Project, they will be soon integrated into the new edition of the Futures Resaerch Methodology CD-ROM. They will bring a new added value and international visibility to our methodological research tasks.
This last 6 months, we have worked on the European Millennium Project Nodes Initiative (EuMPI) and we held two meetings at Brussels. The EuMPI Spring Meeting 16.4.2004 Minutes is indicative of the work made to develop the Millennium Project.
Members of the EuMPI:
- Philippe Destatte (The Destree Institute, Wallonia, Brussels-Area
Node)
- Cornelia Daheim (Z_punkt GmbH The Foresight Company, Essen-Berlin,
German Node)
- Pascale van Doren (The Destree Institute, Wallonia, Brussels-Area
Node)
- Nadezhda Gaponenko (Russian Institute of Economy Policy and Law,
Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology - Russian Academy of Natural
Sciences, Department of Forecasting Moscow, Russian Node)
- Juha Kaskinen (Finland Futures Academy, Turku, Finland Node)
- Bruce Lloyd (London South Bank University, United Kingdom Node)
- Peter Mettler (FH Wiesbaden - University of Applied Sciences, member
of the German Node’s Planning Committee)
- Pavel Novácek (Center for Social and Economic Strategies,
Charles University Prague, Central European Node)
- Saphia Richou (Prospective-Foresight Network, Paris, French Node)
- Mike Rogers (European Commission, DG Research; participated for lunch
break and discussion)
- Sari Söderlund (Finland Futures Academy, Turku, Finland Node)
At this last meeting, the EuMPI’s team spoke about the flow of information and noticed that in the long term, a systematic exchange of information, a structure for this, will be needed. By now, the EuMPI’s system for exchanging is the Members’ Email-group and the archive Webpage of this E-list.
To answer this important question, I had proposed during the EuMPI first meeting, that Prospective-Foresight Network welcome the EuMPI on its website. We can do that easily and will program soon a meeting with the team to prepare the EuMPI website architecture. I will propose a draft by July 2004.
With the next school re-entry in October, I will propose to my students in futures studies (prospective and strategic management) who must implement a reflexion - a Prospective strategic process through the realization of a research report or a Prospective strategic practical file - to work on the follow-up of the Questionnaires and interviews for the State of the Future 2005.
I will give us my address book and they will interview the French experts
or send by e.mail the questionnaires. They will have to convince the experts
to take time to answer and will be in charge of a precise number of answers.
I will follow them since October 2004 until June 2005.
