Report presented in July 2002 Planning Committee Meeting

Nadezhda Gaponenko, from the Russian Institute of Economics, Policy and Law, (RIEPL), Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences,  node chair of the Russian Node, presented the report.

The Russian Node translated most of the last year's lookout questionnaires in Russian and distributed them to possible participants from the academia, NGOs, science, and relevant government organizations. This increased a lot the participation.

The short version of the 15 Global Challenges was also translated into Russian and comments/updates/answers were received from several participants working in the respective fields. The answers were distilled and then translated into English and incorporated in the updated version of the State of the Future.

One interview was conducted for the S&T management implications.

The S&T lookout study incited most of the interest; there were 10 answers received from Russia to round 1, and 21 to the second round questionnaire.

The Millennium Project is more and more known in Russia, mostly in the univeristy environment. Parts of the State of the Future reports are translated into Russia function of their different use.

Nadezhda Gaponenko spoke about the Millennium Project and its findings with various occasions at the many conferences and meetings she participated.
