Jan 96- present. Collaborated with the Millennium Project, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian Institute and the Futures Group, to flush out four scenarios along a given matrix, highlighting the social, political, and economic inter-linkages and spheres of influence while developing a proposed plan of action for future African trends and strategies. The AFRICA 2025 Project was a 1995 UNDP sponsored seminar and workshop that gathered several leading scholars and experts on the issue of the Future State of Africa.
EthiopiaAid - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (East Africa)
Oct. 96-Dec. 96. Assisted in the production and distribution of health care information pamphlets and posters, targeting rural Women. Attended Family Planning Seminars and workshops. Assisted in fundraising and lobby efforts. Collaborated in the research,
production and presentation of a study of Family Planning strategies in rural Africa.
Center of Concern - Conflict Prevention in the Horn
Sum 94-95. Worked with the director of the Horn of Africa Project in developing a report on the Oromo Liberation Front, its history, its political activities, and current negotiations. The project was funded by the US Institute of Peace and my research is being used in a Fund For Peace Study of Indigenous Conflict Management Approaches.

Sum95. Conducted a study on Ethnopolitics and investigated potential methods for developing. Early Warning Systems to solve chronic ethnic/domestic conflict in various African Nations. Aggregated data for the generation of four time series graphs on Rwanda and Burundi representing the level of conflict and cooperation for the period
of Jan 1990 to Dec 1994. Produced and published an abstract in the Annual Ronald E. McNair publication/Magazine.
Internship with Center for Intl. Development & Conflict Management (CIDCM).
Fall/Spr 95. Generated on-line, computer assisted coding, scaling intra-national conflict and cooperation for African nations using the Global Event Data System(GEDS). Produced qualitative and quantitative analysis of international events from daily news-wire reports(Reuters) using Conflict and Peace Data Bank(COPDAB).
Presented research paper on Conflict Dynamics and Early Warning Models.

June 96-present. Executive Assistant to the Director. Handled all communications and publication requests. Updated and maintained a database for recruiters, African Studies Centers and prospective members. Coordinated major press conferences, Board meetings, and discussion groups. Provided logistical support and maintained
all appointments and scheduling for the Director. Assisted in fundraising and lobby efforts (Action Alerts) to congress and NGOs. Trained and supervised a rotating group of six interns.

Sep.96- Spr. 96. Assisted the Head Resident of Leonard International Hall in the supervision and council of 400 residents. Conducted outreach programs for troubled residents. Acted as conflict mediator and student advisor. Supervised and evaluated Desk Managers and UNICO Cleaning Staff. Responsible for proper upkeep and maintenance of the building. Participated and organized events that highlighted ethnic and religious diversity and cultural understanding.
