International Postgraduate Diploma “Prospectiva estratégica del nuevo escenario global”

The Chile Node of The Millennium Project, represented by Professor Héctor Casanueva, in collaboration with the The Millennium Project, the Ibero-American Foresight Network (RIBER), and other prestigious international organizations, has announced the opening of applications for its upcoming Postgraduate Diploma: “Prospectiva estratégica del nuevo escenario global: Chile, EE.UU, UE, Asia, China, América Latina, OO.II., mundo.”
Organized by the Chair of Foresight and International Relations at the Institute of International Studies (IEI) of the University of Chile, this specialized program arrives at a critical geopolitical juncture. Driven by the long-term uncertainties of the “Trump 2” administration, the course bridges international relations and strategic foresight to equip professionals with the tools needed to navigate, anticipate, and mitigate global crises.
The program boasts an elite lineup of national and international experts. The academic staff features Prof. Héctor Casanueva, who serves as the Program Coordinator, alongside Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director of The Millennium Project and Spain Node Chair. The faculty also includes Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, Argentina Node Co-Chair, and Guillermo Gándara, President of RIBER and Mexico Node Co-Chair, among many other experts.
The program will run from August 11, 2026, to November 26, 2026, and will be delivered 100% Online via Zoom. This diploma is designed specifically for university graduates, diplomats, public and private sector professionals in international relations, trade, finance, and international cooperation NGO directors.
The first part focuses on The New Global Scenario, exploring the geopolitics of the Trump 2 era, China’s global footprint, the strategic autonomy of the European Union, threats to democracy, and the challenges facing Latin America. It will also tackle the transition into Artificial Intelligence and the quantum era, alongside critical sectors like health, security, and organized crime.
The second part delves into Strategic Foresight Methodologies, covering the history of future studies, UN-level foresight systems, and practical tools to build future scenarios through hands-on group workshops and policy paper development.
