The upcoming Foresight Europe Network Exchange on 26 March (16:00–17:30 CET) will explore an unconventional and inspiring question: Can we foster futures literacy without engaging our bodies?
In the webinar “Performance-Based Methods and Futures Literacy,” participants will step beyond traditional foresight tools to experiment with embodied, performance-based approaches inspired by theatre. The session is jointly hosted by Foresight Europe Network and SYRIZON, bringing together practitioners interested in expanding the methods used to imagine and shape the future.
The event will feature Pedro de Senna, who will guide participants through a live demonstration of performance-based methods. Drawing from theatrical practice, these approaches aim to cultivate joy, curiosity, and bodily wisdom as integral elements of futures thinking. The session will also include reflections on how embodied experiences can deepen awareness and strengthen agency in how individuals and organizations relate to possible futures.
Joining the conversation are contributors including Maybritt Jill Alpes and FEN leadership, who will help facilitate discussion around how artistic and performative practices can enrich foresight work.

About the Foresight Europe Network and its Exchanges
FEN is a regional Network of The Millennium Project. FEN Exchanges take place every second Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m. (CET) and last one hour. They are designed as an open, informal space for members to connect, share updates, and explore key topics within the European context, using futures and foresight methods—and related approaches—as conversation enablers. The emphasis is on dialogue, connection, and learning, with no formal preparation required.
