On October 2, 2025, during the 15th edition of the Ljubljana Forum on the Futures of Cities, held at Ljubljana Castle, Mara Di Berardo, Communication Director of The Millennium Project and Co-Chair of the Italy Node, interviewed Blaž Golob, Chair of the Slovenia Node of The Millennium Project and Director of the GoForeSight Institute.
The conversation focused on fifteen years of the Ljubljana Forum as a unique foresight-driven platform bringing together urban planners, futurists, policymakers, businesses, financial institutions, and civil society to explore how cities can anticipate change and translate long-term visions into concrete projects.
In the interview, Golob reflects on the original inspiration behind the Forum, rooted in his long-standing involvement in the foresight community, and on the need to bridge urban planning with foresight methodologies. Over the years, the Forum has evolved into an international arena connecting vision, policy, and implementation, contributing to the development of collaborative projects and shared strategies for sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities.
The discussion also addresses the Forum’s growing focus on cities of well-being, highlighting how urban futures must integrate sustainability, innovation, participation, and quality of life, while keeping the human dimension at the center of technological and policy choices.
