The Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC), hosting the Helsinki Node of The Millennium Project, will hold the 27th Futures Conference in Turku, Finland, on 16–17 June 2027.
Organized in collaboration with the Finland Futures Academy (FFA) and its nine member universities across Finland, this year’s theme, Varieties of Futures Knowledge – Theories and Practices, examines the epistemological and ontological foundations of futures knowledge and the different ways these foundations can be understood and approached.
The conference provides a platform to explore the multifaceted nature of futures studies and its diverse knowledge claims. At the core of these claims is humanity’s capacity to imagine, anticipate, and shap the futures. Individuals, organizations, and other collective actors continually build expectations, construct images of the future and scenarios, and open new temporal horizons.
The Call for Papers and Workshops is now open. The organizers invite researchers, scholars, practitioners, decision-makers and doctoral students from universities, research institutes, companies, and governmental and non-governmental organisations to share the latest research results, findings and thoughts by January 25, 2027.
