Solutions to Global Turbulence – WAAS@66 Conference

The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) is hosting its flagship annual conference, WAAS@66, from September 8–11, 2026. Under the overarching theme “Solutions to Global Turbulence: Peace, Prosperity and Freedom,” the four-day hybrid summit builds upon previous findings to tackle escalating global complexities across governance, climate, technology, and economic inequality.

The conference is structured around three core civilizational themes—Peace, Prosperity, and Freedom—interwoven with four strategic streams focusing on the scale of change, its global nature, human consciousness and societal transformation, knowledge and capacity enablers. Bringing together global leaders, diplomats, academics, and civil society pioneers, the event aims to translate theoretical insights into practical, operable strategies for a sustainable future.

The program features prominent contributions from leadership and node chairs of The Millennium Project. On September 8, 2026 (Day 1), the session on Preparing Global Leadership for the Emerging Future and Changing the Way We Think will host Reyhan Huseynova, Chair of the Azerbaijan Node of the Millennium Project and recently elected WAAS fellow, among the speakerars.

On September 10, 2026 (Day 3) under Prosperity – Financing Human Security & Sustainable Development, Jelel Ezzine, Chair of the Tunisia Node of the Millennium Project, will participate as a panelist in Bridging the Science-Policy Gap, while Mariana Todorova, Chair of the Bulgaria Node, will speak in the Session Management of Global Social Transformations by Mobilising Science & Technology as a Force for Good.

Furthermore, on September 11, 2026 (Day 4) under Freedom – Liberating Minds, Restoring Democracy & Human Agency, Jerome Glenn, CEO of The Millennium Project and WAAS fellow, will present in the Session Liberating the Human Mind.
